I am currently listening to an excellent Brewing Network Sunday Session podcast on blending beer and wine yeasts.  The guest, Shea Comfort, really knows his stuff and has done a bunch of experimentation on the topic.  I am certainly planning on trying some of his suggestions.

Didn't get around to listening yet but I'm sure I will whenever the little ones give me some peace and quiet. On a related note, the new BYO has a "Best of Show" recipe collection and one of the winners used a liquid and a dry yeast in conjunction (without a starter) in his winning Bock. Interesting stuff. I might try it.
