Jamey's Award Winning Ocktoberfest

This beer has merited Jamey several awards in homebrewing competitions. I am glad that he shared some of this beer with me.
The beer pours a rich amber color, sort of like a dark honey. The beer had a thin white head on it which was full of coarse bubbles, perhaps a half-inch thick. The head faded very quickly and was gone within 30 seconds. The beer has a rich malty aroma, much like other Oktoberfest beers that I have tasted. There is an alcohol smell there too, but it is otherwise clean.
The flavors in this beer are excellent. I taste a rich malty flavor, that is very full-bodied. The malt contains some melanoidins as well, definately tasting of bread and toast. The flavors roll around on your tongue with a bit of residual sweetness. That richness is what I love so much about Oktoberfest beers, and what mine, sadly, has been lacking. The beer still has a lager lightness to it, which finishes a slight bit tart.
Excellent beer, Jamey. I can see why this one has been pulling in the awards. Thanks for sharing!

Got to try this one at the last CAMRA get-together. Super tasty. Very clean and balanced. Quaffable.
