Hop Crowns on eBay
« on: April 07, 2008, 01:48:07 PM »

Interesting.  Maybe I’m out of the loop, but I haven’t seen hop crowns being offered before.  I got an email today from someone at Freshops alerting people that they are selling 30 year old hop crowns on eBay.

I suppose that an old crown might fare better than a newer one, but I don’t know.  I wonder what hop variety(ies) they are putting in the ground to displace all of these….

I wonder what the productive life-span of Cascades are? I'm not too sure they'd be worth it having to dig them up every week to show-off and boast as the parent of some old roots. I could take a picture and put it in my wallet I guess. That would make for interesting times. Those rhizomes did look sorta like big piles of dooky.  Wink

Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital ingredient in beer. --Dave Barry
